Michael Margolis is a lifelong baseball enthusiast whose love for the game was sparked growing up in 1950s New York City, surrounded by the legendary Yankees, Dodgers, and Giants. His childhood adventures of collecting autographs and watching games from the bleachers fueled a passion for baseball that has endured throughout his life. Inspired by his father’s stories of a segregated baseball era, Michael developed a deep appreciation for the history of the Negro Leagues and the remarkable players who shaped the sport against all odds.
In his book, The Negro League vs. Major League Baseball: The Best vs. The Best, Michael brings these two worlds together, celebrating the talent and resilience of Black athletes while providing a fresh perspective on baseball’s rich history. Through meticulous research and heartfelt storytelling, he honors the players who overcame barriers and left an indelible mark on America’s pastime.
